The first 2016 Honda Civic is produced in Alliston

Published on October 28 2015

“Canadians can also take pride in knowing that every Civic coupe, sedan and Si model sold in Canada is made right here in Ontario, for Canadians, by Canadians.”

The Honda Civic is Canada’s car, our car. It’s the most popular vehicle in the country and has been for over 17 years now. No question, Canada is very important to the Civic, and that may explain why Honda has, for the very first time, made the Honda plant in Alliston, Ontario, the task of being the lead plant in the production of the Civic.

Featuring a host of new technologies including Honda Sensing, a suite of active safety technologies designed to prevent accidents when the driver cannot, and a brand new turbocharged engine, the Civic certainly has quite a bit to offer. There’s also its brand new design that is noteworthy, just like its increased interior space.

“Civic is a vehicle that Canadians have grown to trust.  This tenth generation model will continue to set a new benchmark in the compact class with fun-to-drive performance, fuel efficiency and safety performance, together with a new level of refinement,” said Jerry Chenkin, president and CEO, Honda Canada Inc. “Canadians can also take pride in knowing that every Civic coupe, sedan and Si model sold in Canada is made right here in Ontario, for Canadians, by Canadians.”
