Honda recently unveiled its brand new 2017 Civic Hatchback. This euro-inspired versatile compact will take the market by storm this fall. This hot hatch is built on the same amazing platform as the 10th-generation Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe. It is offered in LX, Sport and Sport Touring trims and all these variants come standard with sporty styling, efficiency, interior versatility and loads of premium features.

A Powerful Turbocharged Engine for the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback in Ottawa, Ontario

Under the hood, buyers will be delighted to find the powerful and innovative DOHC direct-injected turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder that develops 174 hp and 162 lb.-ft. of torque in LX trim, and 180 hp and 162 lb.-ft. of torque in the Sport and Sport Touring trim. This last variant features a high-flow center-mounted exhaust. The powerplant will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a sporty CVT. This new model will have great economy ratings of 6.9 L/100 KM on the LX CVT trim and 7.3 L/100KM on the Sport and Sport Touring CVT trim.

Along with striking style, the outside of the 2017 Civic Hatchback sports the Civic’s rigid and lightweight body and advanced chassis design. A fully independent suspension system with liquid filled bushings, in the front and in the rear, sport-tuned electronic power steering with variable gear ratios, and powerful 4-channel anti-lock disc brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution and Hill Start Assist are all standard features.

Inside the cabin, the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback gets high-grade materials and finishes with and amazing cargo capacity of 727.7 L. For maximum safety of the driver and occupants, Honda Sensing will be available on all trims and will come standard on the Sport Touring variant.

This advanced system offers safety and driver-assistive technologies, including the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) integrated with CMBS, the Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), the Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), the Lane Departure Warning integrated with RDM and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow.

All trims will come equipped with Honda Display Audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to provide the driver with maximum connectivity at all times. Moreover, heated front seats and heated side mirrors, available power driver and front-passenger seats, and available remote engine start will also be offered.

The Honda Civic is AJAC’s Canadian Car of the Year for 2016. And this new addition gets an NCAP 5-star Overall Vehicle Score. Moreover, the IIHS gave it a SUPERIOR rating in frontal crash prevention, when equipped with Honda Sensing.
