The 2016 Honda Accord Unveiled

Published on August 18 2015

A great combination of comfort, interior space, power, and fuel economy.

One of the most popular cars in its class, the Honda Accord will be slightly redesigned for the 2016 model year with a new sporty and aggressive style, more connectivity and security technologies, and some other features that should ensure that it maintains its special place on the market in terms of popularity and quality.

The 2016 Honda Accord Offers Technology, Comfort, and Peace of Mind

Unveiled last month, the 2016 Honda Accord showcases basically the same design as the current generation, but it is obvious from the first glance that we are dealing with a more modern car that overall is a lot sportier. The refinement of the car as a whole certainly has improved as well, and the Accord looks like it costs more than the expected sticker price. The latter is not known yet, but it should be similar to the current Accord which starts at $24,050.

Safety is a Priority!

If the Honda Accord has always done very well in terms of sales, it’s because it offers a great combination of comfort, interior space, power, and fuel economy. This is an easy car to own that always starts and never lets you down. It is also a very safe car. The new Honda Accord 2016 will be even safer.

That’s because Honda will offer in the new Accord the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance technologies. Already available on several models in the range including the new Honda Pilot, Honda Sensing is a set of active safety features like Brake Assist and automatic braking, blind spot monitoring and lane change warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and more.

All this means that the 2016 Accord will be able to anticipate and better yet, prevent accidents.

In terms of connectivity, the new 2016 Honda Accord will be equipped with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This will greatly facilitate the connection between your smartphone and the vehicle’s infotainment system. It will also be possible to access multiple applications found on a smartphone using the infotainment system. To facilitate the use of new technologies and improve ergonomics, Honda has created a divided center console that greatly facilitates daily use.

Under the hood, the 2016 Accord returns with the same engines as the previous generation. We therefore get a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine that delivers 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.5-liter V6 that develops 278 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, many will be happy to know that the Accord will still be available with a six-speed manual.
