Published on March 24 2016

Everything has been redesigned on the new Impreza, starting with the new modular platform that makes the car lower and wider, but also much stiffer according to Subaru.

After unveiling a range of concepts in recent months in various auto shows around the world, Subaru officially unveiled the 2017 Subaru Impreza at the New York International Auto Show yesterday.

Everything has been redesigned on the new Impreza, starting with the new modular platform that makes the car lower and wider, but also much stiffer according to Subaru. Visually, the Impreza gets some elements of the concept cars unveiled in recent months, and its overall appearance is more more muscular and imposing.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza will be offered in both hatchback and sedan configurations, and the BOXER four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine delivering 152 horsepower has been enhanced to be more fuel efficient and also more dynamic. A continuously variable Lineartronic automatic transmission will be offered, and of course symmetrical AWD will be standard.

In terms of safety, the 2017 Subaru Impreza will be available with EYESIGHT, which includes several active safety technologies, including adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, automatic braking that can recognize pedestrians and lane change warning.

The new 2017 Subaru Impreza will be available in fall 2016. For more information, contact us today at Ogilvie Subaru.
