Sales of new Subaru models exploded in August, jumping 34.8 percent compared to August 2015. Subaru registered a total of 4,512 units last month which is a new all-time record for monthly sales in August in Canada for the Japanese automaker.

Towards a record year for Subaru sales

So far this year, Subaru has sold 32,637 new vehicles, an increase of 5.7 percent compared to the first eight months of 2015. With only three months remaining in the year, Subaru Canada is well on its way to achieving its fifth consecutive annual sales record.

Most Subaru models have contributed in their own way to this success. The all-new Crosstrek, for example, had its best-ever month of August with 953 units sold, an increase of 23.6 percent. The new Forester also did very well with 1,136 units sold, an increase of 17.1 percent. Outback sales skyrocketed last month, nearly doubling by jumping 94.9 percent and finishing at 963 units sold.

Sales of the powerful WRX and WRX STI models rose 82.8 percent with 477 units registered.

Sales were up across the country, but Ontario registered the highest increase in sales with 39.8 percent.
