After the sedan, here’s the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

2015 marked the introduction of a new and upgraded Mercedes-Benz C Class sedan. As you may expect it, the coupe version is next in line and will in fact see the dawn of 2016 with a redesign of its own. Here’s a look at what the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C Class Coupé will have in store.

Design-wise, Mercedes-Benz likes to keep its models recognizable yet modern. It’s the case of the new C Class Coupe that now boasts more dynamic lines and drops the squared off headlamps for sleeker-looking ones, and the curves receive a smoother treatment for an overall more youthful feel.

The 2017 C-Class Offers More Power with a Bigger Body

The redesigned coupe also gets slightly bigger, receiving a few millimeters in length, width and wheelbase, all the while shedding 50 kilos in the process, thanks to the use of aluminum and ultra-strength steel. Despite the slightly longer measurements, the rear seat space remains limited due to its calling as a two-door coupe, however the trunk volume remains versatile for an everyday, family use.

The interior design continues where the outside left off with an elegant flow that is enveloping without being overwhelming. The cascading center console with the jet engine-inspired air vents become a statement piece. The infotainment touchscreen is placed up high on the dashboard for ideal visibility, and a HUD insures that the driver keeps his eyes on the road.

Enough Amenities to Thrill Any Mercedes-Benz Fan

The new Mercedes-Benz C Class Coupé also comes with a generous set of standard and optional features, including attention assist, collision prevention assist, adaptive cruise control, a 360° parking camera, dynamic select that allows you to choose your preferred driving mode, between ECO, Comfort or even Sport+. The Coupé is also available with optional Airmatic suspension on both the front and rear axles.

The Canadian market will welcome two variations of the C Class, the C300 and the C63 S AMG. Two other versions should however join the lineup sometime during the year, the C450 and the C63 AMG. The C300 comes equipped with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine rated at 245 hp, teamed with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

As for the more spirited C63 S AMG, it offers a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine with an output of 375 hp that will reach 0-100 in under four seconds and still get an average fuel consumption of 8.6L/100km thanks to the positioning of the turbochargers on the inside of the cylinders, instead of the outside. Of course, the C Class will also be available with Mercedes-Benz’ well known 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

The all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz C Class Coupé will be available come 2016. Contact Mercedes-Benz Ottawa for more information.
