2017 Subaru WRX: Legendary Performance in a Practical Package

Published on May 24 2016

The Subaru WRX is a rally-inspired sedan that can be driven in every possible day-to-day situation.

It features unrivaled performance and, like every Subaru, the best and most sophisticated AWD system on the market. It is available in base, Sport and Sport Tech variants, each with an extensive list of standard equipment and amenities. Prices start at $31,760 for the base model and $37,860 for the Sport Tech model.

Subaru's Sportiest Model Ups the Ante

Under the hood, the 2017 Subaru WRX is equipped with a twin-scroll turbocharged, direct-injection 2.0L SUBARU BOXER engine that delivers 268 hp @ 5,600 RPM and 258 lb-ft of torque as early as 2,000rpm. This marvel of engineering is equipped with the SI-DRIVE (Subaru Intelligent Drive) engine management system as well as an intercooler to keep the intake air temperature cool, and Dual Active Valve Control System with direct injection. The power is channeled to the four wheels using a state-of-the-art 6-speed manual transmission or an optional Sport Lineartronic automatic featuring SI-DRIVE and paddle shifters. The suspension is a 4-wheel fully independent performance tuned system, with front and rear stabilizer bars. For optimal driving pleasure, the electric power-assisted steering is engine speed sensitive.

Outside, the WRX is all about style and racing-inspired lines. It features projector beams and parabolic reflectors that deliver optimal light direction and increased visibility. The Sport and Sport Tech trims feature upgraded LED headlights. The WRX offers a wide, low stance that complements its muscular and aggressive look. In the rear, it is equipped with a high-performance quad exhaust system with stainless steel polished tips and LED-infused tail and brake lights. Every variant also features power-adjustable, foldable and heated door mirrors, as well as an aerodynamic sport design front bumper. Choose the Sport and Sport Tech versions and get multi-reflector halogen fog lights and automatic on-off headlamps.

Racing Style, Everyday Comfort

Inside the cabin, the WRX features a perfect mix of comfort and sportiness. The seats are available in either premium cloth or full leather. Both options are Performance-designed with separate height- and tilt-adjustable head restraints with red stitching. The steering wheel is a 3-spoke, flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and audio, Bluetooth and cruise control switches. Finally, all WRX trims get aluminum alloy sport pedals. The standard AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA infotainment system on the new Subaru WRX features a 6.2-inch touch screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, iPod/USB integration, and the Subaru STARLINK, which allows users to connect mobile devices and access select apps and services on the touch screen.

The Subaru WRX continues to impress, year after year, with more equipment specifically designed to please performance-oriented drivers. Come by Ogilvie Subaru to learn more about the 2017 WRX!
