2016 Acura RDX: a very distinguished compact SUV

Acura has earned its stripes in the compact SUV segment. The new 2016 RDX is a popular Acura model and has hit sale records in the last years. This compact SUV is available in three versions: the RDX 2016 (starting at $41,990), the RDX Tech (starting at $44,990) and the RDX Elite (starting at $46,590). Great improvements have been made to the 2016 edition and all three trims are offered with a great amount of standard equipment.

A remodeled fascia that now accommodates the beautiful and classy JewelEye LED headlights is one of the major exterior improvements on the 2016 RDX. It is equipped with a one-touch power moonroof with tilt feature and visor along with a power tailgate and a practical multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines for towing or parking into a tight spot. The Tech version gets power folding side mirrors and rain-sensing windshield wipers added as standard exterior features. The Elite gets everything the base model and the Tech package gets along with 18" aluminum-alloy wheels with unique RDX Elite wheel design, front and rear parking sensors, fog lights for bad weather and auto-dimming side mirrors.

One engine is available with all three version of the 2016 Acura RDX. The powerplant in question is a 3.5 L V6 that develops 279 hp at 6200rpm and 252 lb-ft of torque at 4900 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential SportShift paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The RDX is AWD and features Intelligent Control System. The towing capacity is 1500 lb. For a smooth ride and great handling, amplitude reactive dampers along with front and rear stabilizer bars are part of the suspension system. The  Motion-Adaptive Electric Power-Assisted Rack-and-Pinion Steering (EPS)ensure precise steering and the power-assisted, ventilated front disc/solid rear disc brakes guarantee a quick and efficient braking.

On the inside the RDX features a great 360-watt Premium Sound System with  MP3/Windows Media Audio capability and in-dash CD player and 7 speakers. Standard features also include the driver’s seat with 8-way power adjustment including lumbar support and 2-position memory, smart entry with pushbutton start and AcuraWatch driver-assist features. The Tech version adds the trusty Acura Navigation System with voice recognition, bi-directional remote engine starter and blind spot information (BSI) system as well as the Cross Traffic Monitor system. Audiophiles will love the Acura/ELS Surround 410-watt Premium Audio System with 10 speakers and hard disk drive (HDD) media storage of the Tech package. The ELITE package will provide the driver and front passenger with ventilated front seats. All three versions can be ordered with the RDX interior package which includes wood shift knob, interior wood trim and the wood steering wheel garnish.
